tired of me, yet?

Um, I made another dress. But this time, I used my own clothes. I think Ken’s worried that he’s going to go into his closet and have nothing to wear one day. Teehee. So I used an old maternity shirt and made a dress. It was already shirred at the top, so it was easy peasy. Er, I mean … it was really hard. I sweated and toiled over this for days. ;)

after:

I only had to use one side of the dress (I guess I was just *that* big) so I cut up the shirred part on the other side to make the straps. But I’m going to have to go back and zigzag over the edges to make them neater. Now’s the time I really wish I had a serger.

Maybe for Christmas …

And just because she’s so cute …

To answer Roxanna’s question in the previous post — I’ve been sewing since February. I took a class at Hancock Fabrics, made some pillows and a pair of pj pants, started working on crib bedding for Emma’s room, talked my mom into buying me other crib bedding, took a hiatus when Miss Emma arrived, and have just now gotten back into it. Now, I think I’m obsessed.

1st off that dress is too cute!!! That is such a good idea to do with those types of shirts cause really when are you going to wear them again? It turned out great!

I have to say I am very very happy to know that you arent some type of sewing genius that has been doing it since she was 6=) I have “sewed” before but I have been wanting to get back into this and TTC I think is a pretty good reason too. I think I am going to have to look at taking some classes at Hancocks.

I do have a question for you cause you seem pretty savey in the CD world. I want blunt truth about CD & what to get & advoid. I am thining of going with pockets or AIO but then someone told me that fitted is the only way to go. I know that everyone is differnt but no one can really tell the cold hard truth hahahaha.

Very cute! And something of a keepsake since you wore it when you pregnant with her.
