Great resource! I'm going to go ahead and offer your series on my blog for someone interested in all the options. I explored more about insert options (http://inquicksand.blogspot.com/2010/02/cloth-diapering-with-gdiapers.html), but not about diaper types. We went with gDiapers for about a year and after having fit issues, have now moved onto Green Line Diapers. Good stuff!

Wow, you are way more sophisticated in your cloth diapering than me! I have the diaper sprayer and love it also - I could not do cloth without it! I use the bumGenius diaper detergent they just started making. Before that i just used any variation of the free and clear detergents on the market. I use only one pail, and don't do the hanging bag thing. (I just sprinkle baking soda on the dirty diapers after spraying and wringing them out.) Then I just do a hot-cold wash with a double rinse. I don't prewash or anything. About once a month I put bleach in with the diapers to get them nice and clean.

Can I just say the most impressive part of this post is the picture of a MAN washing diapers?? My husband thinks they're so gross!

Also, had a question about soaps. I just read on the Fuzzi Bunz site, I think- I've been reading all the different brands sites, and they said that free & clear brands can cause skin burn!!! That is all I've used since my son was born. I ordered some Charlie's at their reccomendation and some dryer balls instead of the fabric sheets, which are expensive and trying to finding an eco friendly and affordable brand is near impossible.
Have you ever read about skin burn and additives causing absorbancy problems, etc.

This is a great, simple explanation! I'm almost 5 months into cd'ing and still get overwhelmed! Can't wait to read the next one about overnight diapering. Still a struggle in our house with my little, heavy wetter!

Allison - the diaper sprayer is attached to the toilet tank. I actually did it myself, so it wasn't hard -- but I can't remember how. I'll get some pictures later to post. :)
