Okay, my mom is going to disown me for posting this, but I am bored with my hair. I love my cut, actually – it’s easy, I can jazz it up without too much hassle for those rare nights out, and it’s perfect for life with a 17-month old.
So I’m wondering if I can dye it. Just a shade or two darker?

I read this blog called Hair Thursday where people send in their pictures and complete strangers vote on one of two hairstyles for them to do. And this picture really caught my fancy – look how the darker color just brings her blue eyes out.
I know mine is not that dark to start with, but I was thinking that it’s the same concept — just a couple of shades darker.
The only con I see is that I have blonde eyebrows and lashes. I pretty much always wear mascara, but I guess I’d have to learn how to do my eyebrows?
So what do you think?

I don’t think you’d necessarily have to do your brows. A shade or two may not make that much of a difference and some peoples brows are naturally a different shade than their hair.
Btw, a few weeks ago I saw you at Sticky Fingers and I knew I should know you but Greta was having a moment and it didn’t occur to me who you were until you were gone. Sorry about that.
Sorry Keli! I side with your mom (I guess) here. I like blonde! But then, I like things pretty natural and I’ve never colored my hair so that’s just the way I roll.
BUT, do what makes you happy. It’s your hair and nothing’s truly permanent!
WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE YOU THINKING!!!
No, really. WHAT ARE YOU THINKING!!
Actually, why not. If you don’t like it it will grow out. You can always dye your eyebrows the same color as your hair when you dye your hair. Just remember the model probably has blue contact lens on and all kinds of makeup. Growing out colored hair is a pain in the butt, too. I would love to take a vote of how many people would kill to have your hair color. You also look great in hats!!
Mom
I say add in some lighter and darker hilites!
Yep, I’m with the high-lights idea too. When ever I go darker I always think I age myself. Pretty soon I’m gonna be white blonde. :) Yes, I can be vain…but I try not to be!!!
Lindsey has it. Go with lighter and darker hilites; gives you the effect you want without the “OMG, WHAT DID I DO” reaction when you see yourself after coloring it dark. But, why would you want to change anything; we all think you’re perfect just the way you are.
