As I was thinking about E’s 2nd birthday party, I was pondering the guest list … and it’s not going to be JUST family this year.
That’s right, Emma has friends!
There’s a little boy she just adores – let’s call him Beemer for privacy’s sake. He is 2 days older than Emma – we were all in the same birth classes, were in the hospital at the same time, and we live in the same neighborhood. Two streets away from each other, actually.
We also go to the same pediatrician … who lives in our neighborhood. On the street between us.
There’s also a little boy down the street – we’ll call him Wildman (because he is a total daredevil on his little tricycle) and I think he’s about a year older than Emma, I haven’t asked, but they sure do have a lot of fun together.
And even though he’s older, Miss Thing can keep up with him without flinching. Ken just knows she’s going to be a superstar athlete.
She hasn’t really connected with anyone else from reading group or church, but maybe by then, she’ll have made some more friends.
All of that to say, my little girl is finally coming out of her shell and is becoming VERY well-adjusted socially. We knew it would come, and we are so proud of her.
And also proud of ourselves for not forcing her to be social before she was ready.

Well…………. considering her Mommy’s always been a weirdo- I think she’s done very well. (:
Love ya’ll- can’t wait to see ya’ll again. 2?????????? My oh my- it goes by WAY too fast.
On that note- Sydnei has her first t-ball practice today. I do believe I see an Olympic gold medal for fast pitch softball down the road a ways. (:
The dilemma of the 2 y.o. birthday party. Keep it simple. Outside is nice too since you can. I have 2 winter babies and being outside is so much easier.
Popee and I cannot wait for Emma to see the totem pole we carved and painted for her. His name is Lee Roy and we’ve made it look as much like Bo’s as possible (considering we are not totem pole artist). We are just hoping she recognizes it as a totem pole. Now Mom and Dad have to figure out where to put Lee Roy.
