Another busy weekend …
We had our first garage sale, and it went okay – but not as well as we had hoped. In the end, I think we made about $80, but as hard as we worked, that’s only about $3/hour, lol.
She kept talking to the people who came by, taking stickers off of items and moving them around, and going across the street to play with the toys the neighbors were selling.
I took that picture with my phone – I wasn’t about to bring my good camera outside, because people were offering to buy pretty much anything and everything that they could see — including the DVD player that E was watching and the table that everything was sitting on. It was crazy!!
People are also out for bargains, but it’s kind of ridiculous. Dude, if I have something marked for $5, I’m not going to take 25 cents for it.
I took this picture to signify how I felt at the end of the day …

I was surprised no one offered to buy my wedding set for 5 cents, lol.
The rest of the day was cleanup, trying to get some rest, and ordering in.
Of course, then I ended up staying up WAY too late for a girl’s night out, but it was totally worth it. I don’t get the opportunity to do that very often, but it was definitely needed and appreciated.
Yesterday afternoon, we took Emma on a bike ride and then loaded up into the car and headed off to something special.
Something she’s never seen.
No, not me.
The Carnival!!
I have never seen her so excited for anything! She would see a ride and then just start laughing and screaming and waving her hands around – I thought she was going to have a complete meltdown.
Her first ride was a little train, and I asked another young couple if she could ride with their daughter …
Then, she rode the carousel – her first time on a horse that went up and down.
By the way, that was the FASTEST carousel I have ever ridden. I had rock hard abs from holding onto the horse and her while that thing went flying round and round.
After the carousel, we hit the boats. They weren’t big enough for me, so she had to go by herself, and she did just fine! She went back and forth from the left steering wheel to the right.
And then one more time on the train – this time, by herself. Literally.
I don’t know why anyone wasn’t there at 5pm on a Sunday afternoon, but it was DEAD. I think there were only 3-4 kids her age there the same time that we were.
And then it was time to go.
We stopped at Red Robin for supper and then headed home to chill out for the rest of the evening.
So while it was a busy weekend, it was a very fun and productive 2 days. Now, I just need to take what was leftover from our yard sale and list the good stuff on Craigslist while dropping the rest off at Goodwill.

Busy weekend but looks like lots of fun. Glad you made it into some pictures! You should jump in front more. Yard sales are my nemesis – so much work with very little reward (at least the ones I’ve done) and I don’t care for people who try to talk you down when it’s already priced so low. For real? I’d rather donate it than sell it at that point.
Ohmygosh, I LOVE that pic of her looking up through her sunglasses. Frame it! :-) Cute carnival pics too – looked like a lot of fun!
Sorry the yard sale didn’t go well. I have high hopes for ours, which isnt’ for another few weeks. Ugh.
I loved your carnival photos. We don’t have anything like that here and it certainly looks like heaven for little kids!
What a FUN weekend!!! Boy, that carnival looks like it was a great time. It’s so cool to see the excitement in a child’s eyes when they experience something for the first time. Awesome photos!!!
