With a vacuum cleaner!
It’s the Dirt Devil Direct Power Stick Vac, and it works great (so far)! I bought it yesterday and let it charge up last night – I was able to vacuum all the of hardwood in our foyer/hall/dining room and the linoleum in our kitchen/breakfast nook without having to plug it back in. And it picked up all of the dirt & dog hair that I could see.
It is very low-profile, so it fits into the corners and under chairs and tables super easily.
It also has a carpet switch, so while I wouldn’t actually use it as a deep cleaner for carpet, it worked great on the rugs. And it picked up the visible crumbs and dog hair on the carpet.
So if we do decide to get an area rug for the living room, I think it would work great for daily upkeep, so I would only have to deep vacuum the rug once a week or so.
It’s also light enough to lift up and use on the sofa and chair.
The reviews I found online were not very favorable, but I don’t think it is meant to work for loads of dirt and pet hair. I have to vacuum at least every other day – every day if the dogs are inside all day, so I think it will work great for daily, light use.
Oh yeah, not paid or given anything for this review … I just like to share about new things that I find that I think might work for someone who reads my blog. :)

Ooooo, that vacuum sounds lovely! We have all hardwood floors and have a shop vac, but I’ve always wanted something that is cordless….must check it out!
We use a swiffer vac (fairly inexpensive) and it does a good job although your vac certainly is prettier to look at.
Jen: I have one of those, but it goes dead before I finish up with one room. I think it’s just worn out. It did work great for a while!
