I made several HUGE mistakes this weekend …
mistake #1 :: I thought that 30 minutes of silence from her room meant that Emma was asleep.
I was wrong.
mistake #2 :: I thought that putting things on a shelf that is about 6 feet off the ground would keep her from getting into them.
I was wrong.
mistake #3 :: I thought that washing her hair 8 times in one day would get an entire jar of vaseline out of her hair.
I was, once again, very wrong.
At this point, we have tried almost everything I’ve found online as well as recommendations from everyone on Flickr & Twitter. I think it’s just going to take some time and many more washings.
And complete mortification when I take her in public looking like I haven’t washed her hair in about 12 weeks.
Needless to say, E is VERY adventurous. A climber. Fearless. I foresee a few broken bones and stitches in our future.

Funny pictures! She does look very adventurous, I love the first picture :)
Dresser in E’s room…….$200.00
Jar of Vaseline…………..$2.00
Seeing pics of your SISTER’S kid covered in Vaseline and thanking the good Lord above it ain’t YOUR kid….. PRICELESS!!
Oh, YIKES!
Well, (and this is coming from experience) I hope that if you don’t already have brackets on your taller furniture, you get some installed due to your little climber, there. We nearly escaped a very unfortunate accident w/ Owen and his armoire last year.
Anyway…thank goodness she’s OK, and all you have to deal w/ is a greasy head of hair. ;)
Have you tried dish soap yet?
Oh dear……looks like she had fun at least for a bit!
Oh boy. She looks like a deer in headlights in that first photo. I was going to suggest dawn…something that cuts grease. This will be one story you remind her for years to come.
Oh no! Poor E! :hugs: to you both.
PS-Your brother totally cracks me up. Your lucky to have him and he is lucky to have you too :)
OMGOMGOMG, Keli. This makes me so sad because I know what a pain this must have been for you. :(
I hope you are able to get it all out soon.
I know parents aren’t suppose to laugh at their children but this is to funny. (Sorry, Kel) You and Ken are in for a lifetime of laughs. Enjoy her adventure nature: you might as well cause you can’t fight it. Love you.
Oh.my.gosh. It has always terrified me – the thought of Andrew climbing up his drawers and having the dresser fall on top of him. I’m glad yours is lower and stable, I’m glad she’s ok too!
Hope you can get it all out soon…I have absolutely no remedy for that one, all we’ve dealt with is gobs and gobs of extra soap he slathered on his dry hair while playing in the bathtub (dry, in his clothes) one afternoon.
Oh wow! This is a mess! How funny though! Good luck! I hope it’s all come out by now!
