Today’s You Capture is called Your Happy Story.
My happiness. At first, I thought this would be hard. I mean, what is the best way to photograph huge piles of money?
I’m kidding!! I’M KIDDING!!
My happiness sure doesn’t come from money. Or fancy cars. Or expensive shoes. Or name brand purses. I mean … dude. I just realized that my “Nine West” purse that I got from Ross for $17 has an upside down nameplate. *snort*
My happiness these days comes from the everyday things.
a beautiful Uganda paper bead necklace from Lovelyn (you can read her beautiful adoption story here)

celebrating the birth of Jesus

pulling Emma’s gorgeous “baby’s first Christmas” ornament (from her great-grandparents) out of the box and hanging it on our tree

Emma’s 2-year old wonder & excitement

an amazing Daddy who knows just what will bring a smile to his daughter’s face

I could do this all day. Really.
In this holiday season, I know that happiness doesn’t come from having possessions or power. It comes from having love for the little things. Peace in knowing what you believe in. And goodness of heart.

The little fingers pic is the best ever; warms the heart is such a special way.
Wow. You amaze me.
Steph
The pictures of your little one looking at the tree and the morning light shot are my favorites. Merry Christmas!
Um, ok I just caught up on your blog for the last week and I have goose bumps, you’re so in the right holiday spirit and how the H E doudle hockey sticks do you do all this? :) I totally took the link to my blog off flickr bc I don’t ever blog :) Yes… today I’m in amazement of YOU!
I love your bokeh. Fabulous! (What do you shoot with?)
I love your happiness. It also makes me want more coffee.
Also? I adore how many nativity sets made an appearance in this challenge. Ours did as well. :)
I love this post.
Could you tell me a little more about the picture where Emma is wearing the hat? Her eyes are in sharp focus, and the background is blurry. I’ve been trying to get better at getting exactly that type of photo, but I find that just when I’ve improved, my next set of photos completely misses the mark and there is a lot of blur. So clearly, I haven’t quite mastered this yet.
What a sweet post. And beautiful pictures as always!
What great shots-you can almost feel the happy in them!
Lots of really good stuff here Kel! You are so right…it’s all about the little things in life. And thanks for the You Capture link. That looks like fun!
