I love really seeing things I see every single day.

That up there?

That is the field directly across from where we exit our subdivision. We see that view at least once a day, often more than that.

I’m usually looking left or right to check for cars and see if I can go, because I’m in a hurry. Running late to drop Emma off or to pick her up at school. Hurrying to the grocery store before she gets hungry or needs to go potty. Rushing to the bank or the library or other errands.

Always rushing. Always with my mind on a goal.

But yesterday, I stopped and looked. REALLY LOOKED.

And I saw something I had never seen before.

This.

A view that caught my breath.

A view that forced me to stop. Forget about pulling out of the subdivision. Encouraged me to grab my camera and shoot.

And this picture will always be my reminder to stop and look.

Look for things that I’ve seen a million times … and then really see them.

I love it when that happens! It’s happening more and more with the help of my camera.
Happy Friday, Kel!

So beautiful. It’s amazing what we don’t see when we are too busy with our lives…

I have felt this way for a while… photography has completely changed the way I see everything. Either that, or there is beauty in this world that did not exist a year ago.

I see it everywhere, making mental notes to come back with a camera and shoot. Of course I would never have time to get back to every mental note, but I love the way it has opened my eyes to all the possibilities that exist. Beauty really is everywhere.

great post! and great job stopping.

Glad you stopped! I love that picture. It would have been a shame if you didn’t look. Look more often open your eyes for the beauty around you even when times are hectic!

Oh, I just love this post. I posted a story about just this very thing this week. Sometimes we get so caught up in rushing here and there and we miss the view. The things that really matter. I love your picture. And I love that you were still enough to capture this!
