That’s right, folks. I’m going to attempt another project 365, which means I will painstakingly take at least one picture each day for a year.
Clearly, I have lost my mind.
It really doesn’t seem that hard, because I could truly take a picture of anything, but when I did it last year, I created all kinds of crazy expectations and then got overwhelmed. And quit around mid-April.
This year, I have decided that while I will do my best to learn as much about photography as I can, I’m also going to have a good time with it. Fewer expectations.
If that means taking a picture of my grocery cart at the store because I can’t think of anything else, then that’s what I’ll do.
I’ve also decided that my camera bag will become my purse, so my camera will go everywhere with me. That way, I won’t have an excuse.
In turn, I’ll hopefully get over my fear of shooting in public places. So if you see me around town with a Canon 50D attached to my face, just smile and wave.
I won’t be doing a separate blog – I’ll just have that little widget in the sidebar and you can check it each day for a new pic. I’ll also add it to the menu at the top as soon as I figure out how.

Yay! How fun! I’m so excited you’re starting one, I just love looking at your photos! Now there will be more to look at! :) No pressure or anything! ;) I’m starting a Project 365 and a 52 Week project too. I tried a 365 last year, but didn’t make it much past March. But I’m super excited to make it through the entire year. My incentive is to make a Blurb book when I’m finished. I totally want to see my photos in a book!

I’m trying 365 again this year – last year I quit in January! I think I had the same problem you did in that my expectations were too high. I didn’t want to take just any picture, I was looking for an award-winning photo to take every day. This year, I got a point-and-shot that fits into my purse, so hopefully, I won’t have trouble taking my daily shot. (I’ve tried carrying around my Nikon D90, and it didn’t work well for me!) I’ll have my daily photos on my regular blog, too – I like the flickr badge you made, so I may try that on my site, too!

Okay, so what kind of purse/bag do you have to put the camera in? I’ve been trying to decide on something for my Nikon and don’t want a “camera bag”, but something fun and not too expensive. Maybe I’ll join you. I suppose I should contemplate it before the end of the day though, huh?

I got a Tracy Joy camera bag before she stopped selling them, BUT she said she’s coming out with a new line soon.

It has enough pockets for a wallet, phone, keys, etc. and it’s not big and bulky.
I’ve been considering doing 365 in photos this year, too! I think I’ll take the plunge with you. I’m not a skilled photographer by any means but, hey, I’ll be 365 pictures closer to it, right?

I think I need to figure out a nicer camera bag so I can carry mine with me all the time. But I also just got a new point and shoot and I can tuck that into my purse.
I like your Flickr badge! I was trying to figure out how to let people see my shots, without having to blog every. day. Ugh. I was also thinking of adding a tab or something on my page. I’m kinda web-design dumb, but I have a brother who does that sort of thing for a living. It’s just hard to have him work on my measly little page when he’s busy running a site for his company! Any suggestions?
And I love Michelle’s idea to make a Blurb book at the end of the year. What a reward! We can do this! We’ll support each other!

… and then chose “html badge” and set it up to show my most recent picture from my Project 365 set. I use wordpress, so I just added it as a widget. If I get a chance today, I’ll take a look around your site and see what we can do. :)
I love the Blurb book idea, too!! All of us will get 2010 Photo a Day books on December 31!
Congrats on starting the 365 project…I tried last year and ended up quiting around the same time you did. No 365 project this year…I’m good to get anything done lately. :)

I also failed at P365 last year. My biggest stumbling block was not having a camera with me all the time. This year I have a little point-and-shoot to keep with me when it’s not convenient to carry around the D80. I’m hoping this will help.
(I don’t post my photos online – I put them all into a scrapbook for the year – hence no link to add.)
Ok, I’m in. I think it’s a great idea! Not sure I’m organized enough, but I’ll give it a try.

Good luck with your 365! I tried it last year, but also had too high of expectations and failed miserably! This year…I started a mommy blog…a place to post photos…and if it’s not every day or every week, I’m ok with that! I can’t wait to follow along with you!
I tried it last year, but it got lost when I went back to work. I thought about doing it this year, but the thought completely overwhelmed me so I’m going to have to take a break with that. I *AM* trying to take as many pictures as I can though…so we’ll see if it can work!
