AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, I just want to scream with delight about this post! LR has literally been just sitting on my computer, I haven’t even looked at the website you so nicely sent! So… I opened this post, I opened LR and an image and actually went through every step! :) This is SO the way for me to learn a program! Thanks a million! -La

Thanks for posting this! I really need to learn how to use lightroom and do presets! Before I got my new mac I had downloaded the LR3 beta version free from adobe and I need to download it again. But I have absolutely no idea how to use it. .-= Heather´s last blog ..9/365 =-.

So beautiful, as always. I’m totally starting to adore textures. Need to get brave enough to try them on my own. I use to think they looked tacky….just goes to show what someone doing it correctly can do!

Love it. Ive been starting to use textures and lightroom (trail for now) and LOVE the effects it gives to a photo. Ive had my nikon slr for a year now and still learning, Im using aperture until I can fully grasp Manual. I love looking at your photos, they've improved so much the last couple of years! .-= tiffany´s last blog ..Love my babies, their the best to photograph. =-.

Thanks for this tutorial. I love textures! Ok question…I noticed you like using Fill layers (like the navy here & grey in another post or pic I saw you do…at least I think it was you, heehee!). Anyway, how do you determine what color to use? And if you’re using it in Exclusion mode…does that mean you’re excluding the navy blue color from the picture or what? I’m trying to get this Fill layer stuff straight in my head. Thanks in advance!!

Exclusion layer: add new fill color layer – make it a navy blue – change blending mode to “exclusion” – then choose your opacity (I usually use anywhere from 70-100%).

I just go to “all sizes” and then “copy image” and paste it into Photoshop.
