duncan hines dairy free brownies

You know how I’m dairy-free for Lucy? (Okay, that sounds like a political slogan or something … funny.) Wait, I don’t think I’ve posted about that here. Well, she has a milk protein allergy, so I’m dairy-free for the duration of our nursing relationship or until she gets over it. The end.

Anyway, I’m always on the lookout for good dairy-free food. And snacks. And sweet stuff. (I should own stock in Oreos) So when I heard that Duncan Hines makes dairy free brownie mixes, I was ALL OVER IT.

They have a bunch of different flavors, but Emma and I decided on chewy fudge.

She “read” the instructions … it says to stir, cook and eat, mom … then I measured and she poured … that’s how we roll.

She also stirred …

And flung.

And then … we ate. And ate and ate. And ate so fast I never took a picture of the actual brownies.

They were good. Really good.

I like to cook from scratch, but I don’t bake or make sweets very often, so having a quick box mix is handy to have around.

My final opinion is that these were slam-dealy-icious.

And because I feel like I have to say it … this isn’t a sponsored review. Duncan Hines doesn’t know or care who I am. I paid a whole two dollars for this brownie mix out of my own pocket because I wanted to eat some brownies. Blahblahblah.

I am just sharing my opinion of this scrumptious product for anyone else who is dairy free and struggling to survive on anything other than chicken stir fry.

One of my favs too!! And you know any boxed mix that needs milk added to it, you can just substitute almond milk for it and it tastes just as yummy! Moon pies are also dairy free (the mint moon pies are SOOOO great!), and the Family Dollar Store has a variety of yummy cookies that are dairy free (and chocolate).

I think you’re doing a great job!! And there IS more than chicken stir-fry out there :-)

I’m dairy free for me, so it is nice to know that brownie mix is dairy free, too. I love your pictures! And I love that they got eaten so fast that there are no pictures. That would totally happen in my house.

Fantastic shots to document a yummy day!!!!! Mmmmm, you’ve got me craving brownies now! Ever tried spooning some raspberry jam through the mix before baking??? DELICIOUS! But I bet you wouldn’t get any shots of those out of the oven either!

Yummo! I love that the mix spill-over turned into a heart. A much gentler approach than my slightly frustrated “keep it in the bowl” snap when me and my girl bake. I must tear this page out of your book! ; )

I’m allergic to a mineral in milk and unfortunately that same mineral is in all of the milk substitutes I can find, so finding things like this is a treat. Thanks for sharing :)

Thanks! Big help. As a man with an almost deathly lactose intolerant girlfriend, it’s a huge help to see reviews like this when I’m unsure if its safe or not. Thanks again!

Thank so much! I am going dairy free for a while go test and see if I have a dairy sensitivity. It’s really hard, considering most sweets have milk in them. I’m so excited to get these brownies!
