babymeat convention

March 3, 2011

in friends

If you don’t know what babymeat is, let me show you.

Baby. Meat. Meaty Baby. Babies with lots of delicious meat. Chunkababy.

IMG_2778

PURE LOVE.

olivia

Tristina and Olivia came to visit yesterday, and we had the BEST time. We (and when I say “we” I mean everyone on Twitter) have called Olivia “babymeat” since she entered the world, pretty much. She is rolls and rolls and rolls of momma-fed goodness.

I mean, really. It doesn’t get much better than this.

IMG_2777

Olivia absolutely LOVED Lucy. She just squealed and rubbed her face and squealed and touched her hands and feet and just babbled to her. It was so precious. And then Emma LOVED Olivia. She kept bringing her toys to look at and play with. I think she’s ready for Lucy to start getting more mobile, heh.

IMG_2774

They were three of the cutest kids around, for sure!

IMG_2880

Clearly, my kids don’t care if the camera’s around … they don’t even bother looking at it anymore. Heck, Emma doesn’t even care if she has hair falling in her face.

IMG_2883

The weather was fabulous, and the babies didn’t nap too well in the house, so we all went for a walk … I totally dig the fact that we both wore our babies on our backs, and they both slept like newborns.

IMG_2837

(can you spot Emma?)

She was wearing a super cute dress that Tristina made for her … as soon as I showed it to Emma, she said, “Ooh, can I put it on!?!?” Thanks, T! xo

IMG_2824

And talk about some gorgeous babywearing … seriously, does it get more beautiful than this?

IMG_2836

I did have a little talk with Tristina, though. You know, about starving her baby? ‘Cause that’s just not nice.

IMG_2865

Overall, it was the highlight of what is turning into a very rough week. So thank you for that bright spot, you guys. Next time, we’ll come to you.

The end.

crying babies

{Sorry, Tristina … I couldn’t resist the crying babies.}

Oh my good heavens. She is lovely.
I adore her rolls.
And her hair.
And her baby-ness!
I have to stop coming here because every time I do I send Gary a text that says MUST HAVE BABY IMMEDIATELY and he says he is going to have a heart attack from the stress : )
I don’t want him to have a heart attack.
I DO want baby meat.
ASAP!

Love you. Like a fat kid loves cake.

And JESUS, MARY AND JOSEPH, Tristina, you and your Livymeats. Love you guys.

Also love the wraps you were both wearing. Need more info. Currently I'm just a ring slinger.

Sarah – all my wraps are from BabyEtte on Etsy. And WrapYourBaby.com is packed with videos and tutorials on every way to wrap kids – from newborn to 4 years old. I LOVE wrapping because you can do so much more with it depending on what you’re doing and the temperament of the baby.

I just cruised over from Tristina’s to say this:

I had such a long day today, one of those days when I’m thinking both “why did I think I could be a mom?!” and “why did I think I could keep my business going?!” and I came home, sat down to begin the nursing marathon, ended up at the post about your visit together with those photos….oh the photos.

it helped a lot.

thanks for being you, you all. and posting sweet, yummy baby pictures of it.

ae

but then I got here and I got to scroll through all the wonderfulness of the babymeats again and, sigh, I am going to bed happy. Such adorableness, nom.

LOVE! My baby was was a skinny-minny (except for her pot-belly!) and I kind of missed not having a rolly-polly. Such lovely pictures. With my first I satisfied my babywearing lust with a sling and an ergo, but everytime I see wraps on your blog I start thinking about trying one with my next baby.

Reply

26 keli March 4, 2011 at 12:40 pm

please let me know if you ever have any questions!! i love wraps for a number of reasons, but the #1 reason for me, personally, is the ability to be totally hands-free from birth, basically. i never got the hang of putting baby in a sling without always having to hold her with one hand, so wraps were the easiest option. and once you get the hang of the various wraps, it’s so super easy.

once babies get bigger, i do love the ergo’ish type carriers (i use an angelpack and a beco butterfly) but for the squishy newborn stage, wraps are the way to go! plus, moby wraps are stretchy and more giving, so even easier than what Tristina and I use.

I’ll definitely keep you in mind when that day comes. I’m not pregnant yet with the 2nd ;) I was in awe of your pictures with Lucy on your back as a newborn. I feel I mastered the sling well and was hands-free, but being able to put a newborn on my back to keep up with a toddler would be awesome.
