Emma had her first birthday party over the weekend. Emma slept through the first 30 minutes and woke up out of it. But as the party wore on, Emma woke up and really started to enjoy the presents, family and her cousins. Uncle Chad was able to make a big break through and carry Emma around the house. She then went to Poppa(sp?) and let him carry her around. Here is a little video clip of Emma staring at cake and opening presents.

We are having Emma’s birthday party today. She was sick 2 weeks ago but she sure isn’t now so there will be lots of pictures and videos.

Keli and I grill out once a week, I went in to get the fish to grill and came out to my daughter sitting in the dogs water bowl. While sitting there she must have come up with something better to do. I didn’t think she could do what she tried but she proved me wrong.

My little girl is one year old. It seems like yesterday that Keli yelled down the hall telling me we needed to go to the hospital now. What an incredible year it has been. Last night it looked like it was going to be a rough birthday for the little girl. She was starting to show signs of dehydration and it became enough of a concern that her Pediatrician made a house call late last night. She hadn’t wet her diaper at bedtime in 7 hours and when she awoke this morning her diaper was still dry. So we were very concerned but no need to be, she woke up happy. Yesterday she was fussy, clingy, and just upset all the time so this change was very positive. The really positive news, she woke up wanting a bottle and looks to have kicked the rough part of it. In fact she wanted bottle after bottle after bottle, we kept them coming as fast as we could. She is down for a nap now and it’s good to see the curious, to the point of mischievous, girl back and being herself for her birthday. She is still very congested and sounds like a 2 pack a day smoker but she is happy and taking fluids again. So for her birthday here is her favorite video.
