To prepare for this week’s water theme, I went back through my old beach pictures and waterpark pictures and pool pictures. But my mind just kept wandering back to this recent picture I took of Lucy.
My 11-month old Lucy.
Yep. ELEVEN MONTHS.
A measly 30 days away from being a one-year old.
Dear parents of one child planning on having more,
It doesn’t get any less significant with each child. You are still like, “I have a one-year old!?!?! Oh my goodness!!!”
Yours truly,
A teary-eyed momma
Anyway, I took this picture while Lucy was taking a water break after all the crawling and pulling up and cruising that she is busy doing right now. [more on that later]
How do you like those chubby fingers? [happy sigh]

Okay, I don’t really know exactly what whimsical means. I mean, I know what it means, but I don’t really know what it means photographically. Okay, fine. I mean that I looked it up in the dictionary. Okay?? That’s what I mean.
And I still don’t really get it.
So … here is my interpretation of whimsical [and one of the reasons the neighbors probably don’t like us]

Okay, so “bright and vivid” isn’t really my “thing” … but I think I’m going to have to start working on getting more of it. So happy!

Please tell me I’m not the only one who automatically started singing the Bette Midler version of this song when I read the theme for this week.
Anyway, I was SO EXCITED about this week, because I think you’re aware by now that I enjoy stepping back and taking pictures from a distance. [And reason #4,291 that I need that 35mm!]
This picture makes me so happy, because it shows their personalities so well …
Emma – pushing Lucy as fast as she can, yelling, intense
Lucy – sitting back, chill, not concerned at all about being pushed very fast around the living room
It also shows a bottle of Pledge and a dust rag on the entertainment center, a laptop on the sofa, a stray cheerio or puff on the floor and folded clothes on the chair that probably never got put away before worn.
Yep. This is my daily life, folks.
See the other from a distance entries here … and please join in!
