We were out running errands ALL day today so Emma didn’t get a nap. After an exhausting evening of several melt-downs, I am going to bed. I wanted to post something today, so I went through some old videos and found my favorite one — the time we let Emma play with a microphone that was plugged into an amp.
I got a lot of comments & emails saying that Santa looks like he’s on crack. But I have to defend him just a little — he was really REALLY nice, and he really REALLY tried to get Emma to like him. He even gave her chocolate! So I think he was just trying to wait out the scream fest while the camera was clicking away – believe me, she wasn’t just scared.
She was MAD.
Funny thing is, he’s the same Santa from last year when we got this sweet picture …
And yes, she started crying right after this picture, too.
We didn’t get video of this year, because were both working full time to try to get her to be okay, but here’s last year’s video where she cries at the very end (and you can hear me laughing – seriously, what is WRONG with me!?!?)
I’ve been scouring You Tube and all of my piano books for a song to play as the recessional for the wedding I’m playing for this weekend. She has left it up to me, and I am freaking out about it. It’s her WEDDING!! But she said she’s not picky, so I’m just going to try to find something upbeat and pretty and … um, easy to play since my practice time has been limited by someone banging on the bottom half of the keys.
So while perusing, I found my old Enya songbook, and I was taken back to 1999 when I fell in love with her music.
love …
this one got me through some college/post-college breakups …
