in my camera bag

Canon 5D Mark ii
Canon 50D

Canon 50mm 1.8 – this is a very inexpensive and light lens that works great. You won’t get super sharp images, so if you are a professional, this may not be the ideal lens for you … but this is one of my favorites as a mom photographer.

Canon 85mm 1.8 – this is a beautiful and super sharp portrait lens, but it is rather hard to use inside, so I reserve this for when we’re outside so I have plenty of room to back up.

iPhone 6S – I’m totally counting this as one of my main cameras, because I use it more than anything.

My favorite iPhone apps…

PicTapGo: I love that you can layer effects and turn the strength of each effect up or down – you can apply a little or apply a lot. Also, the ability to save a favorite recipe to use later is all kinds of awesome.
AfterLight: they recently added a bunch of new filters that are absolutely wonderful, and again, you can control the opacity of each filter, so it’s not all or nothing.
VSCOCam: this app is hit and miss for me, but I know many people who absolutely love it. Honestly, I love PicTapGo and AfterLight so much, I just never think about VSCOCam.
